Each state has its own interests, including economic ones.
Allies and friends are needed only when it helps in the interests of the state. As soon as an alliance becomes unprofitable, it ceases to exist.

In a way you are right because the allies it supposedly has are quickly realising how hypocritical it's leadership class is and the only real ally it has (Israel) wants it destroyed completely to fulfil prophesy... Moreover the US have made sure to create so many enemies throughout the world that it will become increasingly emarginated over time, while at the same time its political class will claim that it's time for the US to adopt isolationist policies.

Than again the US is not this homogeneous hegemonic power it used to be. It has been fragmented in so many disgregated factions that it would not be a far stretch for the strongest one to take it over. I truly believe that in the not to distant future the US will turn into a theocratic pseudo Christian dictatorship of some type and it's not just me saying this. The writing is on the wall.
